Early Learners Room

From 12 months old up until approximately 2 years, children move through to our Early Learners room which can hold up to 9 children with our 3 full time staff. The room set up to accommodate the early years foundation stage and cater for all their developmental needs. Using the daily routine staff plan appropriate activities as we incorporate messy activities including sand & water, stories & action songs & creative.

As the children begin to find their feet, they enjoy two outdoor play sessions each day. During these they make full use of the climbing frame, bikes, bats & balls as they learn how to co-ordinate their movements. From the EYFS children in this room are encouraged to begin communicating both verbally and non-verbally and are beginning to build up relationships with their peers. They will start to play games together and begin to show more independence throughout their own daily routine. Children are encouraged a lot at mealtimes to feed themselves and begin to manage their personal hygiene as they assist carers with face and hand cleaning.

Our Early Learner staff work closely with both the First steps and Pre Prep room to ensure that transitions into their room and in to the next room are smooth, ensuring routines are passed on and parents are consulted on room movement dates and children’s settling in times.
