Ask The Teacher

Louise Gabriel became our Kids Academy Childcare Early Years Co-ordinator in March 2005. With the many constant changes in legislation in childcare, we saw it as a necessity to create a role in which the nursery curriculum planning was monitored, evaluated and kept up to date.

Louise Egan

Louise completed her BTec National Diploma in Childhood Studies in June 1998 and has since completed her NVQ level 4 in Early Years and Management. In July 2009 Louise graduated from a BA Honours Degree in Early Years Education focusing upon the well -being and education of children between the ages of 0 – 8 years, achieving a 2:1 classification.

The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum demands that practitioners are fully aware of children’s individual needs. Louise’s role is mainly concerned with co-ordinating the nurseries planning and ensuring the environment fulfils their needs. It is of vital importance that children’s learning is planned with their own likes and abilities in mind. Louise monitors this and provides support to all of our nurseries when implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

For this Louise liaises regularly with outside agencies such as Sure Start, Early Years mentors and has completed many other training courses relating to her role. Louise holds regular meetings with all our Senior Practitioners, implementing new ideas and, through regular assessments, ensures our high standards are maintained.

Through providing this role at Kids Academy Childcare, we are ensuring children are provided with a sound educational start, a supportive base where we combine working through the curriculum with play and having fun.
